Terms of use.

JaLingo is an educational game, not an official language certification or substitute for learning from Jamaican speakers and communities.

A living language

Jamaican usage and spelling vary by speaker, region, and context. Lessons are reviewed against named sources, but no short course can represent every valid form. Respectful corrections are welcome.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure. Do not access another person’s progress, automate fake reviews, manipulate rankings, evade a block, or interfere with the service.

Voice contributions

Contributors must be at least 18, record only their own voice, read the requested phrase, and accept the Community Guidelines. Do not submit music, background conversations, personal information, impersonations, unlawful material, harassment, or content you do not have the right to share.

By submitting a recording, you dedicate it under the CC0 1.0 Universal dedication. Where a complete waiver is not legally effective, you grant JaLingo and the public a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, adapt, distribute, and publicly perform the clip. This lets a high-quality pronunciation remain useful as the community improves the dataset.

Moderation

JaLingo may hold or remove any contribution, rating, or account that threatens safety, rights, language quality, or ranking integrity. Reports are reviewed and repeated abuse may lead to account removal. Contact privacy@beyondvolatility.com to appeal a moderation decision.

Original and third-party material

Do not copy or resell JaLingo’s original game art, stories, or interface. Third-party maps, references, and imported audio remain under their stated licenses and attribution requirements.

Availability

The service may change as language accuracy, safety, and reliability improve. We may rate-limit contributions, hold community features, or remove unsafe material without notice. Core guest learning remains available without contributing voice data.
