Privacy, in plain language.

Your game progress—including resources, Learning Yard upgrades, field operations, XP, streaks, completed encounters, preferences, and practice history—is cached in your browser and synced to your island passport.

Your account

Your email, optional Google profile name, and game progress are stored in Firebase so your journey can continue on another device. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. JaLingo does not receive your Google password.

Founders measurement

For authenticated Founders, JaLingo records the invite wave, selected plan, completed-parish count, total Yard level, completed-field-operation count, worlds visited, and session dates. It also samples LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, and TTFB. Those speed samples are folded into anonymous, app-wide totals the moment they arrive and are never stored against your account, so they cannot be traced back to you and there is nothing individual to delete. These structured records power the private CEO dashboard and decide whether checkout remains locked. They contain no free-text response, exact location, contact list, advertising identifier, or voice data.

Jamaica Test Council

Founders Season testers may submit a perspective category, two five-point scores for fun and authenticity, a yes/no return-intent answer, their selected journey plan, and completed-parish count. The form does not accept free text. Results are linked to the account only to prevent duplicate cohort records and allow updates.

Culture Crews

Culture Crews are invite-only groups of up to six accounts. JaLingo stores the private crew code, member account identifiers, weekly route counts, and idempotent mission contributions. Crews have no chat, public discovery, contact upload, or public player list.

Community voice recordings

Verified adults may choose to record a JaLingo phrase. We collect the audio clip, chosen contributor name, self-described Jamaican region or connection, phrase identifier, ratings, reports, and technical metadata needed to deliver and moderate the clip. Recording never begins without a visible tap and browser microphone permission. JaLingo does not use recordings for voice identification, advertising, or an undisclosed AI model.

Pending clips are available only to verified reviewers and moderators. A clip becomes a public lesson voice only after community qualification and moderator review. A report immediately removes it from public playback while it is reviewed.

Analytics

Vercel collects privacy-focused aggregate page views and fixed game events such as onboarding, mission completion, world visits, Yard upgrades, sharing, and structured Founders feedback. Event properties use identifiers, counts, and scores—not free text, passwords, email addresses, or voice recordings.

Storage and processors

Firebase Authentication and Firestore process account, progress, cohort metrics, feedback, crew state, community audio, and moderation data. Vercel hosts the application and receives ordinary request logs. Recordings are limited to eight seconds and stored with their phrase and consent metadata.

Your choices

You can export or reset game progress from More. Signed-in users can delete their account and cloud data from the same screen after a recent sign-in. Deletion removes synced progress, founder records, crew membership and contributions, submitted recordings, ratings, reports, blocks, and authored editorial reviews, and takes your account back out of the cohort totals. Speed samples are not listed because they are never held against your account in the first place. You can report a recording or block its contributor inside Voices.

Age boundary

Anyone may use the learning journey, but voice contribution is limited to people who confirm they are at least 18. JaLingo is not offered in an app-store Kids Category and does not knowingly collect voice recordings from children.
